Amelie Begins School

Jan 2008
well, If I can write once a month then Im exceeding my own expectations!! One month of 2008 has already gone by... Amelie started school 3 times a week. Its such a cute school, where she paints, plays with clay, sings songs, learns colors and socializes! Its half Afrikaans and English and she has got the word for 'MINE' down perfect in Africaans! Such a great word for a 2.5 year old and very important to be understood in all languages!!!!
She is taking swimming lessons 2 a week. She is great in the water and has no fear, except for the part of getting her face wet. The teacher has managed, with great drama on Amelie side to get her head in the water, but we are taking it slow.
Her favorite thing at the moment is dancing on a trampoline. She only likes fast music, though. no hip hop only pop music. and she definitetly has her preferences! mommy changes the music when i hear the beautiful sound of her whine as she cries 'noooooo mommy!!!!!!! Fast Music!!!!' Come to think of it, 'Nooooo Mommy!' is also a favorite thing to play at the moment too. I call her the local 'wino'!
Still no luck in toilet training area. Tries sweeties, stickers, promises to the park, but still she goes in the nappy. Although, she does like her privacy and we all know whats going on when she disappears in the closet....
Laurent is eating solid foods and rolling all over the place. I got sick and tried to feed him some baby food, well, he just kept pulling this spoon to his mouth and knew just what to do. So, the question of whether he was ready to eat solids was not one I pondered on. So, the next stage in his life has begun. My babies are getting bigger and bigger!!!

Hi, I came across your blog from your SA wines in Switzerland website. It's nice to see some familiar surroundings- I grew up in Melkbosstrand and worked at Babbel & Krabbel in 1998!! We're now living in Switzerland since April this year. By the way, is that by any chance Esmeralda on two of your photos with your daughter? Looked familiar..
